The Institute of Soil Science “N. Poushkarov” is organizing jointly with the Bulgarian Soil Science Society, Academy of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Soil Resources Agency, Forestry Institute, University of Agriculture and Forestry University, an International Conference “100 years Bulgarian Soil Science” that will be held in Sofia on 16-20 May 2011.
 The Conference is organized to celebrate the 100 years anniversary of establishment of the first soil science department by Nikola Poushkarov and of the first regional soil survey held in Bulgaria under his leadership.The main topics of the International Conference on which abstracts and papers will be submitted are:
1.      Genesis, Geography and Classification of Soils, Geoinformation Systems
2.      Soil Properties, Processes and Functions 
3.      Soil Fertility  and Sustainable Management of Soil Resources 
4.      Soil Ecology and Good Practices for Environmental Protection
